It's been a long and strange journey to opening up an art and candle shop. It wasn't my first business idea, in fact it was my third or fourth, but it's the one I've found the most joy in. It was that joy which enables me to work through the many humbling challenges I encounter, such as learning the technical aspects of 3d printing both in the design and production, learning some of the many ways to make a mold and which work best for my applications, and figuring out all the little things that go into casting a sculpture without defects and bubbles.

From a young age, I've been fascinated by fire, technology, and mythology, so it may be unsurprising that the myth of Prometheus had a big impact on me. It showed the sacrifice that is needed for progress and how one advent can blossom into a whole new era. Fire gave us not only warmth but cooking, smelting, ceramics, and a more productive agriculture. It was only with fire we began developing the modern civilization we all know, and hopefully a much brighter one to come. It's with that thought I created Prometheus' Gifts, to give a body to the idea of using your fire to burn away that which hid the beauty within.

While I'm very happy to offer these amazing candles, this is just the beginning. Every Friday I'll be listing a new a new statue for sale and I'll be adding a new chess set every month. Eventually, I hope to also offer artisanal jewelry, metallic statues, and a variety of ceramics. For now, I wholeheartedly hope you enjoy the art and candles I have made for you and that you will join me on my journey. I see no better way to finish this opening message than by quoting Ghandi:

“A thousand candles can be lighted from the flame of one candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness can be spread without diminishing that of yourself.”
